As a residential architecture firm based in the Twin Cities, our team is dedicated to providing high-quality design services that prioritize quality over quantity.
Services
We offer a range of services designed to support homeowners and builders in creating their dream homes. Our services are divided into three stages: creation, development, and construction.
Creation
In the creation stage, we work closely with clients to understand their vision and budget for their home. We use this information to develop a proposal that meets their needs and expectations. This stage concludes with a proposal that our clients can confidently accept.
Development
In the development stage, we focus on the specifics of the project. We meticulously design the spaces, making decisions on everything from windows to paint colors. This stage concludes with a set of plans used for building the home.
Construction
In the construction stage, we work with clients to select a builder for the project. We also provide ongoing support and administration during the construction process, ensuring that the home is built to plan.
Fees
We understand that investing in a new home or renovation can be a significant undertaking. That's why we approach fees in a flexible and transparent manner. Our fees are based on the specific needs of each project, and we offer a variety of pricing options to ensure that our services are accessible to our clients.
About Marcelo Valdes
Marcelo Valdes, AIA, is the Principal of the firm. With over 20 years of experience in residential design in the United States, Europe, and South America, Marcelo is a registered Architect in the state of Minnesota. He has worked with various architecture firms, including SALA Architects in Minneapolis, where he was an Associated Architect before starting his own firm in 2009.
Education and Teaching
Marcelo holds an Architecture degree from the Faculty of Architecture in Uruguay, a Post Graduate Diploma from the Institute for Housing Studies in the Netherlands, and a Master of Architecture II from the University of Minnesota. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota's College of Design.
Marcelo has been recognized for his work through various awards and publications, including RAVE, the AIA/Star Tribune Home of the Month, and the B.L.E.N.D. He regularly lectures on home design at various institutions and continues to educate professionals and homeowners alike through his teaching and writing.
