At McCullough Excavating, we pride ourselves on our commitment to providing top-quality services that cater to the needs of our clients. Our journey began in 2004 when our founder, Shannon McCullough, started the business by building spec houses. Over the years, we have grown and evolved, expanding our services to include dredging, solar park excavation, site development, commercial septic systems, KM transport, and material sales.

Our History

After completing his education, our founder worked for his brother for three years, gaining valuable experience in excavation. In 2004, at the age of 25, he decided to venture out on his own, starting McCullough Homes. Initially, the focus was on residential properties, primarily around Heritage Lake in Coatesville, IN. As the business grew, so did our capabilities. In 2008, we updated our name to JS McCullough Excavating, marking our transition into a more comprehensive excavation service.

Since then, we have expanded our fleet to include four barges, eleven dump trucks, and five tracked dump trucks. We have worked on numerous projects, including dredging and placing riprap on Rocky Fork Lake, Geist Reservoir, Morse Reservoir, Sweetwater Lake, Heritage Lake, Nollin Lake in KY, and Lake Holiday. Our clients range from local communities to large companies like Citizens Energy. We continue to work on road projects, demolish buildings, collaborate with residential contractors, and manage a fleet of dump trucks and lowboys.

Our Services

At McCullough Excavating, we understand the importance of providing a wide range of services to meet the diverse needs of our clients. Here's a brief overview of what we offer:

• Dredging: Dredging or silt removal is essential for maintaining the lifespan of your lake or pond. Shoreline stabilization is crucial to minimize erosion. We can also place riprap, sand, remove trees, and drive pipe.

• Solar Park Excavation: We have the equipment and expertise needed to clear trees, install roads, perform mass excavation, storm drainage, and final grade/seed the sites. We currently work throughout the entire state of Indiana for IMPA (Indiana Municipal Power Association) and Brandt Construction.

• Site Development: Over time, we have transitioned from residential to more commercial work and have completed many redevelopment public works projects. Site preparation includes water, sanitary, storm, and mass excavation for various building projects.

• Commercial Septic Systems: We enjoy the challenge of installing some of the largest septic fields for schools, churches, parks, camps, and gas stations. Duplex, triplex, quadplex, and deep wet wells are common elements of installing these systems. We are IOWPA, Presby, ATL, Sand Bed, Chambers, and Aerator certified.

• KM Transport: We have eleven dump trucks and two lowboys to meet stone, dirt, sand, and gravel needs. We also haul equipment and barges with our specialty trailers.

• Material Sales: We have many fittings, PVC pipe, HDPE pipe, single-wall pipe, all types of seed, straw blankets, stone, sand, and gravel in stock, located at 8795 E US Highway 36, Coatesville, IN.
