The Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Virginians with energy efficiency and solar solutions for homes and businesses. Our mission is to address climate change by reducing energy consumption, promoting sustainability, and creating economic opportunities.
Our Story
LEAP's journey began in 2009, when the City of Charlottesville and County of Albemarle jointly applied for and won a competitive grant to fund a community-based energy efficiency organization. After the formation of our Governance Board, LEAP was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2010. Since then, LEAP has established itself as a trusted leader in Virginia for home and business energy efficiency and renewables, thanks to the relationships we have developed with our customers, contractors, local governments, and many other partners.
Our Services

- Energy Assessments: Our certified Home Energy Analysts perform comprehensive energy assessments to identify opportunities for energy efficiency upgrades.
