Berg + Moss Architects is a full-service architectural design studio situated in the Hudson Valley town of Beacon, New York. We have projects throughout the New York metropolitan area and have served as design consultants for projects in Poland, Romania, and Hungary. Our small office prides itself on offering an intimate level of service and attention that every building and client deserves. Every project will have the active participation of the partners.

Our open office environment operates with an efficiency and versatility that encourages communication and a cross-pollination of resources, giving it a flexibility to meet the demands of the development process. Each project is evaluated on its own criteria and spirit, and our studio works as a team to achieve the best result that is sensitive to the environment and its surroundings. Each design solution is deliberate and rational while trying to capture the essence of the place and its purpose.

Close collaboration with the clients is essential to the process to achieve the optimum solution that captures their vision. We utilize the latest in Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology. Throughout the development process, our team can track the project and keep a unified approach to the both the design and construction as well as marketing and sales information. Close coordination with the construction manager during this process keeps the project on track and allows for greater efficiencies and teamwork.

Our staff is LEED certified and is continuously building upon its knowledge base through interdisciplinary study. We are licensed in the states of New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland.

Christopher E. Berg, RA, LEED

Christopher has been working in New York for over 20 years where he has worked on a variety of institutional and hospitality projects. His concentration is on work with private developers where he brings a lasting and unique product to large-scale mixed-use buildings. His work begins with intensive zoning and bulk analysis that establishes the criteria for the project. His elegant planning is matched with obsessive program analysis that is recognized by the end user and the developer alike. His previous work experience was at the offices of Allanbrook Benic Czajka Architects and Richard Dattner Associates where he worked on projects such as schools, theatres, and transportation infrastructure. Christopher is LEED certified. He received a Bachelors Degree in Architecture at Syracuse University and a Masters Degree in Housing and Urbanism at the Architectural Association in London.

Jonathan Moss, RA, LEED

Jon has over 25 years of experience bringing healthcare and hospitality projects in the New York City area to completion. He has managed projects as complicated as research laboratory buildings and large new hotels, always bringing attention to design while focusing on the most cost-effective solutions to achieve the client's visions and goals. Previous to forming Berg + Moss, Jon served as Vice President at Stonehill & Taylor for 16 years. He received a Bachelors Degree in Architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design.
