Alfonso & Harmon Architects

Alfonso and Harmon Architects is a design-oriented architecture firm specializing in new and remodeled custom designed residences throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Established in 1997 by architects Francisco Alfonso and Richard Harmon, the firm has grown into an architecture practice exceling in a broad scope of residential and commercial projects.

Our team of dedicated professionals is committed to excellence in design, providing the highest level of individual service to our clients. Our design process is simple: we begin by discussing the client's goals and expectations, then guide them through the process of design, permitting, and construction. By partnering and communicating with the client, engineer, and contractor throughout the process, we are able to transform idea into reality.

We provide a wide range of architectural services including, but not limited to: schematic design, design development, kitchen and bath design, master and phase planning, material selection, working drawings, permits, bidding and negotiation, and construction administration. Our talented team is experienced in all phases of architectural practice.

Our Projects

Our portfolio includes a variety of residential projects, ranging from contemporary and craftsman to traditional and ranch-style homes. Each project is uniquely designed to meet the specific needs and preferences of our clients.

In our contemporary projects, such as the Fir Lane Poolhouse and Stelling Court Residence, we have utilized sleek lines, modern materials, and open floor plans to create clean and minimalist living spaces. Our craftsman projects, including the Alford Avenue Residence and Colusa Residence, showcase classic details and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. Meanwhile, our traditional projects, like the Dana Avenue Residence and Forest Avenue Residence, reflect a more classic and timeless style, often featuring ornate details and symmetrical facades. Our ranch projects, such as the Allen Way Residence and Bedford Avenue Residence, are designed to provide a comfortable and relaxed living environment, often with an emphasis on outdoor spaces and connection to nature.

In addition to our residential projects, we also offer specialized services including bathroom and kitchen design, great room design, and exterior design. These services allow us to focus on specific areas of the home, tailoring our designs to meet the client's needs and preferences.

About Our Team

Our team is led by Principal Architect Richard Harmon, who is a certified Green Building Professional. We also have Project Architect Jim Campbell, who brings his extensive experience and dedication to our projects. Sadly, we lost our founding partner Francisco Enrique Alfonso, but his legacy lives on in our commitment to excellence in design and service to our clients.
