Mark Andrew Saulnier is a highly experienced architect who established his practice in Wilmington, NC, in 1994. With a Master's degree in Architecture and a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts in Historic Preservation from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, Georgia, Saulnier specializes in historic restoration, traditional theme, and contextual new building projects. His expertise lies in residential and commercial projects, and he has completed numerous successful projects across the eastern United States.
Before establishing his practice, Saulnier worked in restoration architecture offices in New York City and for the National Trust for Historic Preservation at the Lyndhurst estate in Tarrytown, New York. His experience and knowledge in the field of architecture and historic preservation have earned him recognition and respect in the industry.
New Construction

Saulnier's work has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the DARE Award for outstanding infill design for the Courtyard Condominiums, DARE Award for outstanding rehabilitation design for the 123 Grace Street office building, and the Historic Wilmington Foundation Award for Outstanding Rehabilitation at 308 South Front Street.
Saulnier is actively involved in the community and has served on several boards and committees, including the City of Wilmington Board of Adjustment, City of Wilmington Planning Commission, Subdivision Review Board, Unified Development Ordinance Oversight Committee, and Wilmington Downtown, Inc. He has also served as the President of Wilmington Downtown, Inc., and has sponsored the Historic Wilmington Foundation Newsletter.
Saulnier is a member of the American Institute of Architects and won the 2000 J. Hyatt Hammond Young Architect Scholarship. He attended the AIA Leadership Conference in 2000 and has received several awards for his outstanding work in the field of architecture and historic preservation.
