Situated in Portland's Kenton Plan District, this mass-timber, high-density residential development comprises 290 affordable units, with entrances designed to direct residents toward the commercial strip along Denver Avenue and the nearby Max station. Featuring large window walls, private balconies, and user amenities such as a gym and community spaces, the project emphasizes the importance of natural light, air, and connectivity. Additionally, the building's design responds to the existing sloped topography, integrating native landscaping, and trees, to provide shade relief, habitat, and improved air quality. Upon completion, the project will be a shining example of sustainable, affordable housing that complements the surrounding urban fabric.
*Minnesota Places (2020)*
Nestled into an existing Portland neighborhood, this proposed redevelopment project focuses on the creation of high-quality, low-cost apartments. With a particular emphasis on two and three-bedroom units, the new eight-story building will provide living space for up to 72 families. Utilizing mass-timber construction technology, mass-plywood panels sourced from a regional manufacturer, and modular construction techniques, the development minimizes neighborhood impacts and on-site disruption. With a thoughtful design that responds to the unique conditions of its site, this project demonstrates our commitment to providing affordable housing near existing high-capacity transit and urban amenities.
*Tangent Village (2018-2019)*
Situated on a steeply-sloped, south-facing ridgetop, this innovative project transformed a wild, undeveloped site into a unique, sustainable residential community. By integrating the existing natural landscape into the design, the project preserved the site's natural beauty while providing 36 modern, energy-efficient homes. With a focus on sustainable materials and construction techniques, Tangent Village showcases our team's ability to deliver exceptional results on even the most challenging sites.
