Our expertise in healthcare design is reflected in our long-standing relationship with Sharp Coronado Hospital and Redwood Terrace Memory Care Center. The Sharp Hospital in Coronado requested a modernization of their 1970's cafeteria along with a conversion of a small outdoor terrace into a healing garden for people to enjoy a quiet meal or provide a space where individuals or families can decompress from the stress of visiting someone in the hospital. An abundance of texture, exciting finishes, calming lighting, and a variety of seasonal plants with changing color created a soothing and peaceful environment for patients, families, and staff.

Redwood Terrace Memory Care Center, a skilled nursing facility that specializes in the care of patients with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, was in need of a refresh to provide a more home-like and calming environment for its residents. Our team collaborated with the center's staff to create a space that fosters a sense of belonging and well-being. We transformed outdated and stark interior spaces with warm colors, cozy seating areas, reminiscence themes, and supportive wayfinding, providing a sense of familiarity for the residents.

Education

Lord Architecture Inc. has extensive experience in designing educational facilities, from K-12 schools to higher education institutions. Our recent projects include the Mira Costa Community College Student Services Building and Bonita Vista High School Track & Field Stadium. The Mira Costa Community College Student Services Building was designed to create a one-stop-shop for student services in a welcoming and accessible environment. The building features a centralized information desk, student meeting rooms, and offices for various student services departments. Bonita Vista High School's new Track & Field Stadium transformed an outdated athletic facility into a state-of-the-art sports complex, complete with a regulation track, artificial turf field, and spectator seating, meeting the school's growing needs and the broader community.
