Our Story

Our firm's principals, Louis Barbieri, Jr., RA, and Michael Detomo, RA, bring a wealth of experience and expertise to every project they undertake. Louis joined the firm in 2008 and is a principal at the firm. He is a NCARB-certified registered architect licensed in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C. Louis holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a minor in Public and Urban Affairs from Virginia Tech and a Master of Business Administration from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His firm responsibilities include BIM Management, project management, technical design, and construction administration.

Michael Detomo joined the firm in 2006 and is also a principal at the firm. He is a NCARB-certified registered architect licensed in Virginia. Michael has completed many local projects that are part of the neighborhood fabric, which includes his participation in community planning and policy; he is a co-author of the City of Alexandria Waterfront Small Area Plan. Michael has served as an Alexandria City Commissioner of the Arts and a Director of the Torpedo Factory Art Center. As a resident of Alexandria, he is a member of the Del Ray Business Association and the Chamber of Commerce. Michael received his Bachelor's and Master's of Architecture from Virginia Tech. His firm responsibilities include project management, construction administration services, and community outreach.

We have worked on projects in the Northern Virginia region, including the Brault Building Administration HQ Expansion & Renovation, the Fairfax County Animal Shelter Animal Care Facility, and St. John's College - McDowell Hall Historic Modernization.
