Founded by Rick Vitullo, AIA, Vitullo Architecture Studio PC is a Takoma Park-based architectural firm with a reputation for providing exceptional design expertise to residential projects of all sizes. With over 30 years of experience in residential design and construction, Rick's passion is to create spaces that are not only beautiful but also functional and sustainable. As-Built Drawings

As-built drawings are an essential step in the initiation of any architectural project. Our team of skilled professionals will meticulously measure and document all existing conditions, including structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, as well as any historical elements. We also conduct a zoning analysis to determine the buildable area of a site or identify potential variances. This thorough approach enables us to develop a comprehensive understanding of the existing conditions, setting the stage for a successful project.

Design

Once the as-built conditions are determined and the zoning analysis is complete, our design phase begins. We work closely with clients to understand their project goals and desires, leveraging our 30 years of design experience to create a design that solves the design challenges. We produce clear design sketches and refine the design through subsequent meetings, taking into account the client's budget parameters.

Feasibility Studies

In some cases, a feasibility study may be necessary to determine the viability of a project before committing to a full design and construction program. Our expertise in conducting feasibility studies includes variances, consultations with Historic Commissions, and trade professionals to ensure that the design is compatible with the project goals.

Construction Documents

After the design process is complete, we create a full set of construction documents outlining all aspects of design that will be included in the construction contract with the building contractor. These documents include dimensions, views, details, and specifications to ensure a smooth construction process.

Perspective Renderings

To help clients or other design professionals visualize a design direction, we produce 3D perspective renderings or other design drawings necessary for complete understanding. This is especially helpful in Historic Commission meetings, where material patterns and massing can be challenging to visualize in plan or elevation form.
