Our Story
Our journey began when Lisa and Dave Cornelius, our founders, made the move from Michigan to Bluffton, South Carolina in 2004. With a combined 37 years of marriage, three successful adult children, and two wonderful grandchildren, they packed up their bags and traded in the snow for the sunny Low Country. With a passion for cooking, golf, and community involvement, they've quickly become an integral part of the Bluffton community.
Meet the Team
Lisa Cornelius, our Founder and President, is a licensed general contractor and realtor with over 30 years of industry experience. With a background in interior design, real estate, and marketing, Lisa brings a unique skill set to the table. Her passion for customer service and design expertise ensure that every client feels heard and valued throughout the homebuilding process. Lisa is the driving force behind Simply Southern Homebuilder, and her infectious enthusiasm is contagious.
Dave Cornelius, our Co-Founder and Managing Partner, is an experienced entrepreneur with a global business background. With a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and an MBA from the University of Michigan, Dave brings a wealth of knowledge in finance, business strategy, and leadership. His sharp business acumen ensures the stability and financial health of Simply Southern Homebuilder.
Paul Cornelius, our Office Administrator, is the son of Lisa and Dave. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for organization, Paul handles all aspects of office administration, from accounts payable to correspondence with local authorities. His attention to detail and dedication to excellence make him an invaluable member of our team.
Larry Muething, our Construction Manager, is a seasoned professional with over 40 years of experience in the construction industry. A licensed General Contractor, Larry brings an unparalleled level of expertise to every project he undertakes. With his attention to detail and exceptional project management skills, Larry ensures that every home meets the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
