Their son, Allen Metcalf Jr., purchased the company from his father in 1951, after returning from a tour of duty with the US Army during the Korean conflict. We have since become a leader in the moving industry, with a reputation for providing exceptional service and quality moving solutions to families and businesses across Minnesota and beyond.
Our History
Our journey began in 1919, when Allen & Elna Metcalf started the business in Minnesota. Elna set up moves from the kitchen, while Allen designed and built the first van body on an REO Speed Wagon. In 1951, Allen Metcalf Jr. purchased the company from his father and later became an agent for Mayflower Transit in 1967. We have continued to expand our services, opening an office and warehouse in Rochester, MN in 1972.
