Our History

ServiceMaster of Greater Pittsburgh has a rich history that dates back to 1929 when it was founded by Marion E. Wade as a moth-proofing company. Over the years, the company has expanded its offerings to include carpet cleaning, fire and smoke damage restoration, and other specialty services. In 1981, John Samek and his partners purchased the company and established it in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. The business has since grown to become one of the largest and most reputable restoration companies in Western Pennsylvania.
