Who We Are

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Tennessee is a professional organization dedicated to the advancement of the architectural profession in the state of Tennessee. With over 1,600 members, AIA Tennessee is the voice of the architectural profession and a resource for its members in service to society. Our mission is to shape the professional environment in Tennessee so that architects, clients, the building industry, and the public at large understand and appreciate the value we bring to the community.

Our Services

At AIA Tennessee, we offer a range of services designed to support the professional and personal growth of our members. Our services include:

• Advocacy: We engage with state officials, regulatory bodies, and the public to advocate for the interests of architects and the built environment. Our advocacy efforts focus on issues such as building codes, zoning regulations, and access to public funding for design-related projects.

• Education and Professional Development: We provide continuing education opportunities, career development support, and leadership development programs to help our members stay current with the latest industry trends and best practices. Our education and professional development programs are designed to enrich our members' professional and personal lives.

• Networking and Community Building: We offer a range of networking opportunities, including membership committees, local components, and online forums. Our networking opportunities are designed to bring together architects, designers, and industry professionals from across the state, promoting collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing.

• Design Excellence and Public Awareness: We promote design excellence and raise awareness of the role of architects in the creation of the built environment. Our design excellence programs recognize outstanding architectural projects and honor the achievements of architects who have made significant contributions to the profession.
