Since John Hope started John Hope Electric in 1992, the company has expanded from one employee to the ten we employ today. And as business has grown, so has our reputation for excellent craftsmanship. We use only the highest-quality materials and our workmanship is guaranteed for as long as we are in business. Between the two principal managers, John Hope and Stu Hacker, John Hope Electric has over 60 years of experience-which gives us a real advantage in terms of expertise, design/build capability and company management. We value our relationships with each of our customers and are proud to contribute to the safety and well-being of our community.

John Hope, the owner, started working in the electrical field in 1978, wiring new homes in the Santa Cruz Mountains. As business grew, his work expanded into many different types of electrical work in the Silicon Valley. He worked on a variety of commercial and industrial projects in San Jose, ranging from machine shops to printed circuit board plating factories. Before long, he had gained professional experience working on nearly every type of electrical project imaginable. In 1983, John started working for Triad Electric, where he managed commercial jobs of all kinds, including projects at The Holy Cross Church, Long Marine Laboratories, UC Santa Cruz and Lipton Foods. At Lipton, he gained valuable experience working with electric motor control. John acquired his electrical contractor's license in 1992 and soon after founded John Hope Electric, Inc.

John and his wife, Janet, have been married since 1983 and they have two sons, Trevor and Connor. John and the boys enjoy dirt bike riding, snow boarding, backpacking, and wake boarding together. John's other outlets include windsurfing, martial arts at Santa Cruz Karate, and riding horses with his wife.

We provide customized design/build services for projects such as medical offices, corporate office buildings, hotels, restaurants, retail centers, theaters, data centers, parking structures, and lots. Additionally, we offer LED retrofits, remodels, circuit upgrades, and troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair services. We also specialize in electric vehicle charging stations and pool and spa electrical work.

John Hope Electric's Design/Build projects include notable buildings such as the Palo Alto Medical Foundation Building, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Administration Building, and the Medical Building Complex.
