Our journey began in 1977 as A & C Plumbing. Steve Anderson, the owner, started this venture while he was a University of Tennessee college student. He had worked part-time for his uncle's plumbing business throughout his education years and enjoyed the hands-on nature of the work and the challenge of finding mechanical solutions to everyday problems.

Steve's wife, Lynda, took on the role of office manager, a position she still holds today. In the early 1980s, during the Solar Water Heating Incentive Program, Steve became certified by several companies and added Solar Water Heating installation to the company's services. As A & C continued to grow and become more energy-conscious, Geothermal Heating & Cooling was added to the mix. The first Geothermal system was installed in 1993 at the Anderson family home and farm.

Nathan Anderson, Steve and Lynda's son, worked part-time with the business during his youth. After graduating from Maryville College with degrees in Environmental Studies and Political Science, he returned to the family business, further solidifying A & C Trades' commitment to green solutions.
