Our History

Art Anderson is all about family. Three generations have shaped a culture where employees and customers are treated as family. We take the time to understand our customers' challenges and deliver the finest engineering solutions and detailed design. Our projects range from vessel construction to land engineering, demonstrating our unparalleled understanding of where land and sea meet.

Our Leadership Team

Our leadership team is led by President & CEO, Ben Anderson, grandson of our founder, Art Anderson. Ben has a strong background in design and operational engineering, as well as exceptional leadership experience. His experience as a Project Manager and Naval Architect at Art Anderson, along with his time as a USCG Officer, has provided him with a unique perspective and skill set.

Ben is responsible for all aspects of the firm's operation and has a Bachelor's degree from the United States Coast Guard Academy and Master degrees in Mechanical Engineering and in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Michigan. He is also a certified Contracting Officer Representative and has overseen vessel inspections for the Puget Sound Sector.

Our Chief Operations Officer, Melissa Anderson, leads our business development, including sales and marketing. She guides our business operations with an emphasis on financial performance and market growth. Melissa has an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Washington and a Master's in Business Administration from Seattle University. She thrives on the challenges that business often presents and is always looking for creative solutions that make life better for both clients and employees.
