At Hughes Construction Company, Inc., we have been building a reputation for responsive, high-quality construction services and fair business dealings across the southeast and into North Dakota since 1960. As a premier builder of multifamily apartment and single-family commercial communities, our professional construction team draws on the knowledge gained through building thousands of apartment units for over 50 years. Whether it's a new construction project or a renovation, we can provide professional services from concept to design, development, preconstruction, and construction. Our History and Leadership
We have a rich history and a strong leadership team. In 1960, our founder, Garry V. Hughes, began building single-family residential housing. By 1965, we expanded into the development and construction of commercial and industrial projects. Over the next six years, we acted as the general contractor on numerous shopping centers, office buildings, convenience stores, retail outlets, and libraries. Our company grew rapidly, and our founder's experience and determination were the keys to our success. In 1971, we identified multifamily housing as our target market and developed a business plan to provide a full range of services to the multifamily housing industry. This included design, development, construction, and management. Since then, we have successfully constructed over 23,000 multifamily housing units with construction costs totaling more than $600,000,000.
In 2000, Chris H. Hughes joined our company and became our President. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi. With a combined experience level of over 60 years, Garry and Chris Hughes have expanded our company into the development and construction of medical facilities. We have developed and/or built five nursing homes, consisting of approximately 320 nursing home beds. We have also constructed a $1.8 million Imaging Center for Rush Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi, and we have purchased, renovated, and remodeled three medical office facilities across Mississippi.

Meet Our Team
Here are some profiles of our team members:
Chris Hughes, President - Hughes Management, Inc., President - Hughes Construction Company, Inc., and President - Hughes MS Development Company, Inc. Chris joined The Hughes Companies in 2000 and leads The Hughes Companies in the development, construction, and management of multifamily developments. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Juris Doctorate degree. Prior to joining the Hughes Companies, he was a practicing attorney.
Christal Gregory, Construction Accountant Christal joined Hughes Construction in 2014 and provides accounting for all construction and development.
Kay Ming, Secretary Kay, a 6-year employee with Hughes Construction, assists with accounting and administrative duties.
Frank Farley, Director of Development Frank joined The Hughes Companies in 2008 and has over 30 years of experience in the financial services and business development industries.
