Drakakis Architecture

Drakakis Architecture LLC was founded in December 2009 by Desiree-Marie Escario Drakakis and Kosta J. Drakakis. The firm's founders bring a diverse background of experience in architectural design, having worked on various projects ranging from residential to commercial and institutional buildings. This extensive experience has enabled the firm to approach each project with a unique perspective, considering client objectives, site specifics, and the project's presence in the community.

Desiree, the principal of the firm, holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia and a Master of Architecture from the University of Maryland at College Park. Kosta, also a principal, holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master of Architecture from the University of Maryland at College Park. Sophia, who has been with the firm since its inception, brings a wealth of experience from her previous work with an engineering firm in Dupont Circle, Washington DC.

Our Services

At Drakakis Architecture LLC, we offer a wide range of services including architectural design for new construction, additions, and renovations. We focus on creating light and airy spaces, integrating interior spaces with the exterior environment, and bringing the outside in. Our projects include whole house collaborations, kitchen and bathroom renovations, and custom fabrications to make each space unique.

We have worked on various projects, such as small-scale local commercial projects, like neighborhood pool renovations and favorite local eats, which aim to bring these structures to life as memorable places of gathering while respecting their rich community histories. We also specialize in new construction, additions, and renovations for residential and commercial properties, ensuring that each project meets the client's objectives and complements the surrounding environment.
