For three generations, the Schaeffer family has been dedicated to providing quality built, affordably priced new homes to the people of the Delaware Valley. Thomas Schaeffer Sr. learned the craft of woodworking in the Army during WWII and immediately put his new skills to work in the home building industry. The second generation was led by Thomas "Tim" Schaeffer Jr., who worked with his father and many other builders throughout the region, polishing his craft and building custom homes in Southern New Jersey. Tim eventually founded Tim Schaeffer Communities in 1989. The building tradition passed to Tim's son, Jason Thomas Schaeffer, who worked his way through the trades while attending high school, college, and graduate business school. Today, Jason continues the tradition as President of Schaeffer Homes.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide the best value without sacrificing quality. We continually re-work our architectural designs and search for new materials and methods to ensure that our homes meet the highest standards. When a new technology is proven to have superior quality, lower cost, longer life, and fewer warranty issues, we implement that technology and pass the cost savings along to our customers.

We have been recognized with the Build of Integrity Award by Quality Builders Warranty, the MAME Award for Best Custom Home Design, and the Guildmaster Award, which demonstrates our experience in the art of building and the science of service.
