Our History

Founded in 1962, C. J. Coakley Co., Inc. has a rich history of delivering high-quality work on some of the most iconic projects in the Washington D.C. area. Our company was born out of a passion for craftsmanship and a commitment to excellence. Our founder, Cornelius Coakley, was a plasterer by trade, and his vision was to create a company that would provide the highest quality plasterwork in the area. Over the years, we have expanded our services to become a full-service interior and exterior contractor, providing a wide range of services including plastering, swinging stages, mast climbers, scaffolding, hoists, trash chutes, and trucking services.

Our Services

As a full-service contractor, we offer a diverse range of services, from interior and exterior construction to specialized services such as swing stages, mast climbers, and scaffolding. Our expertise in plastering, walls and ceilings, and specialized services has made us a go-to partner for many prominent projects in the Washington D.C. area. We have had the privilege of working on iconic buildings such as the International Spy Museum, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Carnegie Library Apple Store, Volkswagen Headquarters, the Australian Embassy, Johns Hopkins University, Amazon HQ2, INOVA tower, and the Towson College of Health. We have also completed numerous renovations and construction projects in government buildings, museums, and other notable institutions.
