Our journey began in 1954 when our founder, Mauritz Gunneson, a skilled craftsman, started a new life in America, settling in New Haven. His son, Bernt, followed in his footsteps, learning the trade and eventually taking over the family business. Today, we continue tohonour the tradition of excellence, expertise, and craftsmanship that has been passed down through four generations of the Gunneson family.

Our Story

Mauritz Gunneson came to America in 1919, and soon after settled in New Haven, where he began building a new life as a skilled craftsman. His son, Bernt, graduated from the Boardman Trade School in New Haven and went on to refine his craft as a home builder, hardwood flooring installer, and wood floor refinisher. After serving in the Army during the Korean War, Bernt returned to New Haven and joined his father's business. Later, his sons, Gary and Lars, joined the company, and today, we proudly continue to serve the community with our family-owned and operated business.
