Our History

IVC was founded by Kent Seeman and Rich Schleyhahn, both graduates of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale with majors in Architectural Technology. Kent has been a design-build contractor since 1993, primarily constructing pre-engineered metal buildings for coin laundry and dry-cleaning facilities throughout the Midwest. After the industry slowed in the mid-2000s, Kent and Rich reunited and formed Illinois Valley Construction, LLC.

Since then, IVC has grown into a reputable and respected construction company serving clients within a 200-mile radius of Central Illinois. As an exclusive dealer for American Building Company, a pre-engineered steel building manufacturer, IVC has continually evolved and broadened its scope of services to meet the changing needs of its customers.
