Our Services

Our extensive portfolio of services includes site preparation and development, road building and improvements, water, sewer, and storm sewer construction, driveway improvements, residential site grading and improvements, trenching, commercial and industrial snow removal, sand, gravel, and topsoil delivery, and drainage repairs. We are pre-qualified with the State of Michigan Department of Transportation for grading and drainage work, aggregate construction, sodding and seeding, storm sewer and water main, and clearing and grubbing. Our team is fully insured and bonded, ensuring our customers' peace of mind.

Our History

Al's Excavating, Inc. was founded in 1976 by Al and Marcia Elgersma, with a single bulldozer, dump truck, one trailer, and Al's experience in the excavating field. Over the years, we have expanded our fleet and diversified our services to cater to industrial, commercial, and municipal clients, while remaining connected to our community's residential customers.
