Our company's story began in 1927 when our founder, George Skipper, started working for a large company that specialized in roadwork across New England. He was exposed to various innovative methods that have been passed down and are still used today, including pervious and impervious pavements, heavy crush stone recharge areas under pavements, and various types of finishes. After World War II, in late 1945, George decided to start his own business, focusing on residential and commercial paving jobs. His son, George (Pete) Skipper, took over the company as George Skipper & Son Paving, continuing the family's commitment to quality work.

We have a long history of handling difficult and unusual jobs, including underwater boat ramps, pervious pavements, acrylic pavements, and a very popular stone surface pavement. We were pioneers in the recycling of old and new asphalt, setting up the first recycling machine on Cape Cod to reuse old pavements. This not only helped us save resources but also contributed to a more sustainable environment.
