Design is an act of problem-solving.
Our Approach to Sustainability
At Paul A. Castrucci Architects, we believe that architecture is more than just a commodity of privilege. We believe that great design engages the entire community, not just as a finished product, but as an inclusive process that invests stakeholders in project success and builds on the expertise of lived experience. Seeking equity in the creation of public spaces provides value for all stakeholders.
HOLISTIC SUSTAINABILITY: NET ZERO AND THE URBAN ECOLOGY
We understand that sustainability is not just an add-on feature, but a fundamental aspect of our design process. Our team of experts is dedicated to creating buildings that are not only sustainable but also functional, aesthetically pleasing, and socially responsible.
OUR PROCESS
As pioneers in Passive House implementation in New York City, we use energy modeling and design to create buildings that are not only Net Zero but also Carbon Zero. Our team has over a decade of experience in designing Passive House buildings in the city and has successfully implemented numerous projects using this methodology.
LOCAL LAW 97 SERVICES
In April 2019, New York City passed the 'NYC Climate Mobilization Act.' As part of this legislation, Local Law 97 requires some buildings over 25,000 GSF to meet carbon emission caps by 2024 or pay steep fines. Our team of experienced architects and energy consultants can help decision-makers identify and implement LL 97 compliance strategies. We've developed a five-phase approach to create a streamlined method for LL 97 compliance and energy cost savings.
