Our Story

At Sueppel's Building and Remodeling, we're proud to be a family-owned and operated business with a rich history in the Iowa City area. Our story began in 1995 when Paul Sueppel, a retired police officer, opened Sueppel's Vinyl Siding, a small handyman business that installed siding, windows, and doors. Over the years, our team grew, and we expanded our services to include home remodeling, renovations, and additions.

In 2002, GT Karr, who had started working with Paul during his high school days, bought Sueppel's from Paul and expanded the business further. Our team now comprises more than 80 years of combined experience in the building and remodeling industry. We're committed to providing exceptional service, quality workmanship, and dedication to our community.

Our Team

GT Karr, our president and owner, has been instrumental in shaping our business into what it is today. With over 25 years of experience in the building and remodeling industry, GT has served as president and vice president of the Iowa City Home Builder's Association and has been a chair member on the Remodeler's Council and the Parade of Homes. He has also served on the Senior Housing Action Committee, Johnson County Climate Action Committee, and the Historic Preservation Commission.
