Our Story

Mike Neff and Brian Sherman, the founders of State Security, have been friends since childhood. Their bond, forged on youth baseball fields and middle school sports teams, extended to high school where they played football, basketball, and baseball together for the Newark High School team. Even the maroon colors that signify State Security today are a subtle nod to their shared alma mater. Driven by ambition and unwavering loyalty to each other, Brian and Mike embarked on a journey that would culminate in the creation of State Security.

Brian, already working in the electronic security sector, saw an opportunity to join forces with Mike. Their shared vision was to establish their own company, but fate intervened when the company Brian worked for was acquired by a larger entity. Un deterred, they decided to take matters into their own hands. Sitting down in 2008, with merely five credit cards and the unwavering support of their wives, they set out on an entrepreneurial adventure.
