Our Design Process
At FABITAT, we believe that effective design is a collaborative effort. Our process begins with a free consultation, where we'll discuss your project, your style, and how you use your space. We'll even provide a few ideas to get our imaginations going. Next, we'll provide a design proposal, complete with thought-starter images, time it will take, and an estimate on budget. This way, you know ahead of time what we'll do and what it will cost. Finally, simply purchase the design hours you need, and we begin work!
Our services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. Whether you're looking to enhance a small area or transform an entire space, we'll work with you to bring your design vision to life. Our design process is comprised of six key steps:
1. Measure: We'll meet at your home, scan the space with our proprietary LiDAR Scanner, and discuss what of your existing items you might want to use in your new design.
2. Render and Design: For whole-room or whole-home designs, we'll build a 3D rendering of the space, to exact scale, so you can see precisely what your new furniture, paint color, drapery, or wallpaper will look like in your home.
3. Review Design and Revisions: Once the rendering and design is complete, we can easily make changes to it. You'd rather have patterned drapery? A different chair? We'll do that, until the design looks just the way you like it. Usually, we do two to three revisions, and we factor that in to our initial design time estimate.
4. Sourcing: Once we've landed on the space's look and feel, we'll provide you with two to three options to choose from for each item in the design. So, if we've landed on a modern, grey linen 3-seater sofa, we'll give you three options, usually of varying price points, from the retail and/or to-the-trade markets.
5. Purchasing & Install: Some clients want their whole space completely delivered. We can handle all the purchasing and installation, or we can do so with the client, depending on their needs and budget.
6. Finishing Touches: Once the space is done, we'll come back at the client's request, and add any finishing touches (that's gratis!).
