Our Story
Nilest & Nilest Painting is a Louisville based painting contractor that has been serving the city and outlying areas for over 60 years. Started by Edward Nilest while he was Captain of a local Louisville Firehouse, named intently to show the close ties of our family, now is Louisville's premier painting contractor and one of the older local businesses in operation. The company has been owned and operated by Raymond Nilest, Sr. for over the last 30 years, he has grown the company from the side business that it was to the very reputable organization it is today. For over 60 years, we have been serving the residential space. We are very experienced and have all of the latest tools for the job as well as utilizing all of the latest standards. We are fully insured, offer warranties, and only use products that we stand behind. We have very close ties to paint and paint accessory suppliers so we can offer a higher quality at a lower price than most other companies. Our workmanship is second to none and dealing with us is hassle-free.
We also specialize in commercial painting, where we have painted many commercial spots and have decades of experience in doing so. We own or have the ability to get any piece of equipment needed for the job and employ several people qualified to use most common equipment. We are well versed in OSHA compliance standards and have years of experience in industrial use coatings.
Additionally, we offer exterior wood services, where we work with traditional style stains and the newer water-based coatings. We are well versed in many different products and can help you decide what would be best to use. We have also have experience in coating log homes, large and small.
Lastly, we offer repair and warranty services, where we offer warranties on all jobs. If you notice that something is wrong, all that is needed is a simple phone call to us and we will schedule a time to come out. We typically leave unused paint with you in case that there is a need for a touch-up or repair at a later date. We also can offer many different repair services: wood replacement, wallpaper removal, drywall patching, and pretty much anything that is needed to get your surfaces paint-ready.
