Our Story

LGM Glass Designs is a family business with a rich history rooted in service and innovation. The company's story began in 1952 when Ray Sharbaugh, a veteran returning home from military service, embarked on a career in the glass industry. He initially joined Alto Glass in Pennsylvania, quickly rising through the ranks to be entrusted with opening a new branch in Baltimore. Sharbaugh's dedication and talent blossomed, leading him to purchase Chevy Chase Glass in Bethesda, Maryland, a well-established residential glass service company, in 1967.

Over the next several decades, Sharbaugh and his company built an impeccable reputation, consistently exceeding customer expectations. Their work on prestigious projects like the White House, the Naval Observatory, the National Institutes of Health, and various embassy properties solidified their position as a leader in the field. In 1983, Ray Sharbaugh further expanded his business by establishing Laurel Glass & Mirror on Main Street in Laurel, Maryland. Joanne, Ray's wife, became a vital partner, working tirelessly alongside him for over 50 years. The family tradition continued, with all five Sharbaugh children, their spouses, and several grandchildren joining the company at various times, contributing to its growth and success.

The Legacy Continues

As the company matured, Ray Sharbaugh's grandson, Frank Anastasio, stepped into the fold. Gaining valuable experience in both residential installations and at the Chevy Chase Products Center, Anastasio officially joined the company in 2008 as an estimator. In 2019, recognizing his dedication and capabilities, Ray Sharbaugh named Anastasio as president, ushering in a new era for the company. Rebranding as LGM Glass Designs in 2020, the company embarked on a strategic expansion plan.

Under Anastasio's leadership, LGM Glass Designs inaugurated its second facility in Jessup, Maryland, dedicated exclusively to commercial fabrication. This division boasts a team of skilled estimators, project managers, and a state-of-the-art fabrication center equipped with a custom RhinoFab 1350 Machining Center. This advanced technology allows for precise and efficient cutting and fabrication of storefront and curtain wall systems, streamlining operations and elevating the quality of their commercial products.
