Founded in 1985, TECTA Associates is a San Francisco based architectural, interior design, and branding firm with a wealth of experience in designing retail and restaurant spaces, commercial and office properties, as well as residential projects. With the recent opening of our Los Angeles office, we have been serving both small and large companies for over 37 years, and have a deep understanding of codes and jurisdictions. Our practice specializes in designing retail and restaurant buildings and spaces, and our clients have included landlords such as Westfield, Weingarten Realty, Simon Group, and JMB Realty, as well as retailers such as MAC, Bare Escentuals, Fed Ex Office, Macy's, Starbucks, Borders Books, TJX, Walgreens, Taco Bell, and Yum Brands. Our projects include shell retail centers, retail and food service buildings, and tenant improvements.

• Architecture: We provide comprehensive architectural services, from initial design and planning to construction administration. Our team of experienced architects is dedicated to creating buildings and spaces that are functional, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing.
• Interior Design: Our interior design services include space planning, finish selection, and furniture and equipment selection. We work closely with our clients to create interior spaces that reflect their brand and culture, while also meeting their functional needs.
• Branding: Our branding services include logo design, graphic design, and environmental graphics. We help our clients develop a strong brand identity that is consistent across all touchpoints, from their physical spaces to their digital presence.
• Soft-Story Retrofits: Soft-Story Retrofits are improvements intended to make buildings earthquake-ready by adding or altering structural elements. We provide complete soft-story retrofit services, from evaluation and design to construction administration.
• Remodels and Renovations: We provide remodel and renovation services for existing structures, which can include everything from new fixtures to new floor plans.
• Additions: We provide addition services for newly constructed structures attached to existing structures.
• Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs): We provide complete services for Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), also known as granny flats or in-law units.
• New Construction: We provide complete development of ground-up buildings, which can be a new home, multi-family building, detached garage, or ADU.
• Entitlements: We provide entitlements services, which include approvals from governmental agencies to use or develop a parcel of land.
• Record Drawings: We produce detailed record drawings of existing conditions that can include MEP information.
• Construction Administration: We observe your site during the construction process to keep the project on-budget and builders to task.
• Permit Coordination: We submit the drawings and all necessary documents to local municipal departments for permitting and approval and stay on top of plan checkers to make sure your plans make their way through applicable departments as quickly as possible.
• Demolition Documents: We produce plans to guide contractors on how and what to demolish to be used in final contractor pricing, permitting, and construction.
• Construction Documents: We produce permit-ready construction documents for use in final contractor pricing, permitting, and construction.
• Design Development: We take the design that is approved by the client in the Concept Design stage and incorporate the design elements into our drawings to be used in the Construction Documents
