Hudgins Design Collaborative (HDC) is a family-run architectural firm that has been serving Richmond, Northern Virginia, and Coastal areas near and around the Chesapeake Bay since 1998. Our firm is dedicated to providing high-quality, sustainable architectural design and construction services that cater to the unique needs of each client. We believe in interpreting our clients' visions and bringing them to life, rather than imposing our own design philosophy.

Our Team

Our team is led by Frances R. Hudgins, a registered architect with degrees from the University of Virginia, School of Architecture. Frances has extensive experience working on large international and government projects in New York City and Washington, D.C. before starting Hudgins Design Collaborative in 1999. She is known for her attentiveness to client needs and her ability to cultivate solid working relationships with contractors. Frances is often joined by her husband, Tim Hudgins, who graduated from the Virginia Tech School of Architecture and shares her passion for thoughtful, contextual architectural design.
