Our Story
Ali Davin began her career in art and antiques, working with institutions such as the J. Paul Getty Museum and Bonham's auction house in Los Angeles. She continued exploring other aspects of collecting and connoisseurship in San Francisco, which informed her work. Her insatiable curiosity for design and hands-on approach inspired her to launch Jute Interior Design in 2009, with studios in Sausalito and Santa Monica.
Our Services
We offer a comprehensive range of services, including residential and commercial design, drafting, custom millwork, and space planning for new construction. Our whole home interior design services include custom furniture, cabinetry, and lighting design. We also provide sourcing of art, antiques, and one-of-a-kind objects, as well as advising on natural materials, mindful building, and non-toxic design.
Healthy Home Consulting
Our founder, Ali Davin, has over 15 years of experience utilizing non-toxic design methods. She has honed a chemical-free approach to building, designing, and decorating without sacrificing aesthetics. We offer healthy home consulting services, where we help clients select the healthiest materials for their home through consultations on planning, sourcing, and building a healthy home. We work with chemical and environmental sensitivities, covering new builds, renovations, and decor.
