Our Design Process

Our design process is broken down into several interconnected phases that work together to create a cohesive and smoothly executed plan. From the initial meeting to project completion, our team takes the time to listen to our clients' needs and is responsive throughout the process.

Preliminary Design Phase

During this phase, we determine how to fulfill the client's project requirements and desires. We identify and address design restrictions, including zoning and building codes, site conditions, and existing structures.

Schematic Design Phase

In this phase, we prioritize the overall design of the project and incorporate the client's specific requirements and desires. We focus on the larger scheme of the project and begin to visualize the space.

Design Development Phase

In this phase, we refine the design created in the Schematic Design Phase, focusing on the finer details of the project. We work closely with our clients to ensure that every aspect of the design meets their needs.

Construction & Permit Document Phase

In the final phase, we shift our focus to communicating the design and providing all the necessary information for plan review, permitting, and construction. This includes technical documentation that serves as the contractual agreement between the client and the builder.

Passive House

Our team is comprised of experts in sustainable design, with several Certified Passive House Consultants. We are committed to designing passive houses that offer a transformative living experience. Passive House is a globally recognized standard for energy-efficient construction, with the goal of slashing heating energy consumption by 90%. By combining building enclosure efficiency and passive solar strategies, we create cost-effective, comfortable, and energy-efficient buildings.

Sustainability
