Established in 1998, Barry Block Landscape Design & Contracting, Inc. has been dedicated to providing exceptional residential garden design and landscape installation services to discerning homeowners on the east end of Long Island. Our mission is to collaborate with each client to ensure that their individual styles are reflected in their surroundings. From design concept to complete landscape installation, we offer comprehensive services that cater to every phase and scope of your project.

Our expertise includes the design and construction of fences, walls, arbors, pergolas, patios, walkways, boulder staircases, and driveways, as well as seasonal and perennial plantings. We strive to incorporate sustainable low-maintenance concepts and the latest innovations in landscape construction to apply timeless horticultural practices. A well-planned garden provides joy and beauty all year long, and we aim to deliver just that.

Our Team

As founder and Vice President, Barry Block is a skilled and accomplished landscape designer with over 30 years of experience. He is formally trained in Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Architecture from SUNY Farmingdale and ESF at Syracuse. Barry is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), New York State and Long Island Nurserymen and Landscape Association (NYSNLA & LINLA), and Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD).

Beth Ann Block, as Vice President and Controller, brings her corporate finance and public accounting experience to the organization. She received a BBA in Public Accounting from Pace University and an MBA in Marketing from Fordham University. Beth Ann is responsible for the daily operations of the business and provides office support for all projects, acting as a liaison with clients.

Design and Installation

Upon your request, Barry and our design team will visit your site, discuss your vision with you, and create a landscape plan that fits both your and your property's needs. We can advise on important placement decisions, are familiar with town requirements, and can assist in facilitating any permits necessary. Our plans can be as detailed as your site requires, and we also have a licensed landscape architect on staff if needed. For installation, we offer a detailed landscape proposal outlining all items, ensuring that your project is meticulously installed in a timely and professional manner by our seasoned experts.
