Cates, who decided to focus on auto glass after a boll weevil infestation decimated cotton fields in the Southeast. With foresight and a commitment to excellence, the company expanded its products and services to include glass installation, repair, and replacement for both consumers and commercial clients.
Today, Lee & Cates Glass is one of the longest operating and most successful family-owned businesses in Jacksonville, not to mention one of the largest independent glass companies in the Southeast. We have eight locations throughout North Florida and South Georgia, including four in Jacksonville, and a corporate office that remains headquartered in Jacksonville.
