Exploring the Power of Design, Shaping the Future

Welcome to the Seattle Architecture Foundation

--------------------------------------------

The Seattle Architecture Foundation (SAF) is a local non-profit organization that aims to celebrate and honor Seattle's rich architectural heritage while encouraging community involvement in shaping the city's future. SAF provides a range of imaginative programs that make architecture fun and relatable to people of all ages and backgrounds. Our goal is to inspire and educate the public, fostering a deeper appreciation for the built environment and the role it plays in our daily lives.

Explore Seattle's Architecture and History

----------------------------------------

SAF offers weekly walking tours every Saturday at 10:00 am. These tours provide a unique opportunity to explore Seattle's architecture and history while learning about the city's urban design practices. Our enthusiastic guides are eager to share their knowledge and facilitate a better understanding of the architecture, landscape, and urban design that shape our cities.

Programs for Youth and Families

-------------------------------

SAF offers various exceptional programs and experiences for all ages that connect people to the architecture, design, and history of Seattle. We believe that inspiring the next generation of architects, designers, and urban planners starts with providing access to engaging and educational programs. Our programs include family workshops, youth programs, exhibits, and special events that encourage creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking.

Exhibits

--------

SAF hosts various exhibits throughout the year that showcase Seattle's architectural heritage and innovation. These exhibits provide a platform for architects, designers, and artists to share their work and ideas with the community. Our exhibits aim to inspire and engage visitors, fostering a deeper appreciation for the built environment.

Center for Architecture & Design (CfAD)

--------------------------------------

SAF is located at the Center for Architecture & Design (CfAD), a dynamic public space for exhibits, programs, and conversations that explore design's role in shaping cities. CfAD partners with Design in Public, AIA Seattle, and AIA Washington Council to celebrate the power of design, advocate for policies affecting the built environment, and examine ideas to help Seattle meet the challenges it faces. The programming at CfAD is developed in large part with input from volunteers and members, mirroring their passion and interests. The Center is a hub for design enthusiasts, offering a range of events and programs that explore the role and impact of design.
