Welcome to Witt Building Material Co., Inc., a 3rd generation, locally owned and operated business. Since its establishment in 1914, Witt Building Material Co., Inc. has been serving the East Tennessee building industry with a wide range of products and services.
Our History
Founded by J.P. Witt in 1914, Witt Building Material Co., Inc. initially specialized in millwork type products and planning mill operations. Over the years, the company expanded its product line to include a large variety of building materials and engineered wood products, such as wood trusses. In fact, Witt pioneered the production and use of floor trusses in Tennessee. Today, Witt Building Material Co., Inc. is still family-owned and operated, with W.R. Witt, a 3rd generation owner, at the helm. Under his leadership, the company has grown and expanded to better serve its customers.
Our Facilities
We operate two locations to serve our customers more effectively. Our 10-acre site at 1242 E. Weisgarber Road is home to a truss shop, yard, and lumber yard, allowing us to handle large quantities of lumber. Our 235 Dale Avenue location serves the downtown Knoxville area with a millwork shop and lumber yard.
