Unsatisfactory Experiences
Delayed Projects
The author, David Ulm, reported a disastrous experience with Hurst, citing a 35k patio installation that was delayed by weeks, causing significant damage to the surrounding yard. The project remained incomplete, with half of the tiles loose and the patio still uncleaned or sealed.
Miscommunication and Lack of Accountability
Additionally, David Ulm mentioned that the project manager failed to inform him of the construction delay and repeatedly set unrealistic expectations for the project's completion. The contractor would often not show up or not communicate new dates. The author felt treated like a second-class customer and only received excuses and "I understand your frustration" comments.
Unsatisfactory Completion
David Ulm also mentioned that the project manager collected the final payment in December, but the project remained incomplete. The author felt ignored and neglected, with the contractor making promises but failing to deliver.
