At Commercial Business Furniture (CBF), we're proud to be a family-owned and operated business that has been serving Salem, Oregon since 1869. Our story began as Commercial Book Store, and over the years, we've evolved to become a leading provider of office furniture and ergonomic solutions.
Our History
In 1952, Ray Gotchall joined the company as a commissioned salesperson and remained with CBF for an impressive 61 years. In 1992, Ray took over the company, relocated to our current location at 1070 Commercial St NE, and rebranded to Commercial Business Furniture. He introduced his son, Steve, to the business, and together, they continued to grow and expand CBF. In 2013, Ray and Steve began their retirement process, and we were fortunate to have the opportunity to purchase CBF, making it a reality on January 1st, 2014. Today, CBF is a woman-owned LLC, and we're proud to be a family-run business.
Our Team
Our team is led by Katy Mizer, our sole proprietor, and her husband, Dale. Together, they bring over 30 years of combined experience in office furniture, sales, design, space planning, manufacturing, and ergonomics. Our team also includes their son, Sawyer, who provides sales assistance, ergonomic consulting, floor plans, and service. We're proud to have a talented team of sales and service professionals, along with local manufacturers and distributors, as well as distributors across the country. Our goal is to provide the best possible products and service to Salem and the surrounding areas.
