At Johnson Custom Pools, we have been building lasting memories for families since 1987. Our story began when our retired president and owner, Tom Johnson, started building swimming pools in the Austin area over 40 years ago. With a wealth of industry experience, Tom founded Johnson Custom Pools LLC in 1987, continuing the legacy of providing exceptional pool construction, renovation, and maintenance services. Tom's extensive experience and dedication to excellence have enabled us to build a reputation for delivering exceptional results and an unparalleled pool building experience.

Our Story

Tom's journey in the pool industry began in 1965 when he started working as a construction worker for Centex Pools. Over the years, he worked his way up to eventually co-own and lead the company. Following the disbandment of Centex Pools during the recession in the 1980s, Tom founded Johnson Custom Pools, launching a very successful pool construction business. In 1990, Tom's son, Craig, joined the company to work in design and sales. Craig was named Vice President when Johnson Custom Pools incorporated as Central Texas Waterscapes, Inc. In January 2019, Craig took over the business, and it was renamed Johnson Custom Pools LLC. While Tom is enjoying his full retirement, he remains a valued consultant.
