At Local Lawn Care & Landscaping, we're more than just a lawn care company - we're your friendly neighborhood landscaper. Founded in 2011 in Aurora, IL as a family-owned and operated business, we service both residential and commercial properties. Our owners, Joe and Jess, live in the community they service and take pride in the quality of the experience they provide to all of their customers.
Our Story
Local Lawn Care & Landscaping was founded in 2011 by Joe and Jess Colonero. Joe began by cutting grass for neighbors and other local community members. After seeing the potential in the lawn services industry and enjoying the creative freedom of being his own boss, Joe began passing out flyers & pushing his mower down the street to each customer's house. While Joe still works with members of his crew on properties, he also spends a lot of time in the office working closely with company leadership and clients to help manage accounts, design, and run the day-to-day operations. In 2022, Jess left her role as a childcare center director to work full-time alongside Joe, focusing on enhancing team culture and business strategy. As a team and couple, Joe and Jess had no idea how great Local Lawn Care & Landscaping would grow, and they cannot wait to see what the future holds!
Meet the Team
Our team is comprised of experienced professionals who share a passion for providing exceptional lawn care and landscaping services. Joe Colonero, our owner, has a background in Air Traffic Control Management and is an expert in lawn care and landscaping. Jess Colonero, our owner, has a background in Early Childhood Education and Business Administration and focuses on enhancing team culture and business strategy. Carlos Macias, our Operations Manager, has expertise in Hardscaping Design and Management. Dee Paquette, our Office Manager, has a background in agriculture and is an expert in office management.

We offer a wide range of lawn care and landscaping services, including lawn fertilizing, mulch ordering and installation, landscaping and hardscape designs, commercial snow removal, and more. Our mission is to provide a stress-free landscape and snow & ice management experience for all of our customers. We focus on providing exceptional service, building long-term relationships with our clients, and giving back to our community.
