Our Company History

At Rich Kramer Construction, we take pride in our long history dating back to 1930. Our legacy began with Louis Kramer, who started a small carpentry business to support his family and provide a future for his sons. The family tradition continued with Charles, who learned the trade from his father, Louis. Our current owners, Rich and Bob Kramer, grew up under the meticulous eye of their father, Charles. They brought their extensive experience and reputation to Springfield, Missouri in 1991, where they established Rich Kramer Construction as a full-service general contractor.

• Pre-Construction: Our pre-construction professionals work closely with our clients and their design teams to save time and money during the project planning phase. We provide site evaluation, feasibility studies, material cost assessment, and design services.
• Self-Performance: With a team of over 40 skilled craftsmen, we offer self-performance capabilities including site work, demolition, concrete foundations, rough and finish carpentry, custom millwork manufacturing and installation, structural steel erection, pre-engineered metal building supplies, and more.
• Development/Build and Lease: We have successfully helped companies develop, construct, and lease their custom facilities.
• General Contracting: With over 70 full-time construction professionals, cranes, backhoes, fork lifts, scissor lifts, dump trucks, and other critical equipment, we control quality, cost, and schedule more efficiently.
• Design-Build: Our design-build services allow for a single source for design and construction, eliminating adversarial roles and providing earlier cost determinations and building occupancy.
• Competitive Bid: With our self-performing capabilities, we are competitive in the bid market and actively participate in approximately 30% of our work.
• Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings: Our expertise in steel and pre-engineered building allows us to be an authorized dealer for many manufacturers.
