Initial Impression and Estimate
The reviewer, Cameron Clark, had a good initial experience with Liberty, specifically with Manuel, who quickly returned his call and provided a reasonable estimate for the driveway expansion and redoing project. Despite having a fully-booked schedule, they managed to fit in the project only a week later.
Issues with the Project
However, the project was not without its issues. The reviewer had attempted to prepare the site by using plastic bender-board to define the driveway edges, but this proved to be inadequate, and the hot asphalt softened the plastic, causing it to bend. The reviewer had to hastily make and pound in additional stakes to keep things in place.
Shortages and Delays
Additionally, the crew seemed to have underestimated the amount of road base needed, causing them to run out quickly. This led to a two-hour delay while they went to get more materials. Meanwhile, several significant valleys in the asphalt were pointed out, but only one was filled in, with the rest being dismissed by the crew as being due to different compaction rates.
Disappointment and Unanswered Concerns
The reviewer was disappointed with the final result, stating that they did not get a flat driveway as expected for the $4,000 they spent. An email to Manuel about the issue went unanswered, leaving the reviewer feeling that they got what they paid for.
