Our story began over 30 years ago when Jack Cross founded Cross Excavation in Bethel, Maine. Jack's background in logging and experience in developing the Mount Abram Ski area laid the foundation for his successful excavation business. Over the years, Cross Excavation grew to become a leading provider of excavation services in the region. In 2009, Jack and his wife, Sue, sold the business to Doug Jones, who now owns and operates the company. Doug brings a wealth of experience in excavation and trucking from Massachusetts and owning an excavation business on Cape Cod.

Today, Cross Excavation is a subsidiary of Douglas W. Jones, Inc. We serve homeowners, road associations, towns and municipalities, real estate developers, and other contracting companies. Our team is built around a core group of dedicated employees who have been with us for many years, ensuring that we deliver exceptional service to our clients. We carry $1 million in general liability insurance coverage and an additional $5 million umbrella policy for your peace of mind.
