A Glance At Our Company

Trumbo Electric, Inc. is the oldest electrical contractor in western Virginia and one of the pioneers in design/build construction. Established in 1948 by Norvell Trumbo, the company has always been committed to fully integrating electrical engineering and construction into one business. This unique approach allows us to provide our customers with an electrical system of superior value while maintaining the highest quality standards possible.

Located near Harrisonburg, Virginia, Trumbo Electric is still the only contractor in western Virginia licensed to practice electrical engineering. We were the first Virginia contractor to employ engineers and practice design/build construction in the 1960s, and we have excelled in electrical design and layout for decades. We are licensed by the states of Virginia (#0407002199) and West Virginia (C01146-00) to practice electrical engineering, and we have successfully completed thousands of industrial, institutional, and health care projects ranging from several thousand dollars to over ten million dollars in our sixty-plus year history.

Our Team

Our team of over 100 members is dedicated to providing quality service that meets or exceeds customer expectations. We recognize that our employees are our most valuable asset and have always been committed to investing in their training and development. Our leadership team includes:

• Shanna Billhimer, President: Shanna began working at Trumbo Electric in 2007 as Controller and moved into the role of Operations Manager as well as onto the Board of Directors in 2009. She assumed the role of President in September 2020. Shanna has served as President of the Association of General Contractors of the Shenandoah Valley, a board member of the American Subcontractor Association of the Shenandoah Valley, a member of the State Board of Directors for the Association of General Contractors of Virginia, and as Treasurer of the JCMES PTA and Broadway Community Little League.
• Jeremy Sonifrank, Vice President, Business Development: Jeremy began working as an Electrician's Helper at Trumbo Electric in 2004 after completing a 2-year Associates Degree program at Blue Ridge Community College. He has since held various roles within the company, including Estimator, Project Manager, and Business Developer.
