For over 50 years, Gruber-Latimer Restoration has been the premier stone and brick restoration firm in the quad state area. Founded in 1968 by Hagerstown businessman Dick Gruber, the company quickly developed an expertise in historic construction techniques. Over the years, Gruber-Latimer has helped restore many historic private homes, as well as completing a significant number of projects in the commercial and public sector. The company's portfolio includes notable projects such as the restoration of Antietam National Battlefield, Shepherd University, Rock Creek Park, and the C&O Canal, among others.
Our Team
Today, Gruber-Latimer Restoration is owned by Brien Poffenberger, who took the helm in 2019. Brien is a long-time advocate for historic preservation and has a deep understanding of the importance of preserving our nation's historic structures. He is also the chair of the Maryland Historical Trust's board and has a master's degree in architectural history from the University of Virginia. Under Brien's leadership, Gruber-Latimer continues to excel in the field of historic preservation, ensuring that the company's legacy of excellence will endure for generations to come.
