A key milestone in Pella Concrete Contractors, Inc.'s history was the acquisition of their first set of aluminum wall forms in the mid-to-late seventies. This investment allowed the company to venture into constructing concrete basements, further solidifying their relationship with the local homebuilding community. Subsequently, the company strategically added a backhoe, dump truck, and other excavating equipment to its fleet, enabling them to tackle a wider range of projects. As the workload increased, Nelson brought his sons, Randy and Mike, into the fold, shaping them into valuable members of the team. Both Randy and Mike, after graduating high school, joined Pella Concrete Contractors, Inc. full-time and eventually became co-owners, contributing their expertise and commitment to the continued success of the company.
