Our journey began in 1961 when our founder, Simon Lukos, started the business as Eastern Aluminum. The company initially focused on wholesale distribution and retail sales of aluminum awnings, siding, doors, and replacement windows. However, it was not until Stephen Lukos took over the business in 1975 that we began our journey into the world of fabric awnings.

In the early 1980s, we started selling fabric awnings on a retail basis, and by 1985, we decided to discontinue our retail business to focus exclusively on manufacturing and distributing our products on a wholesale basis. This decision was driven by our frustration with the poor quality, service, and support provided by predominantly European retractable awning manufacturers, as well as our recognition of the immense growth potential of lateral arm retractable awnings.

Since then, we have evolved into a national leader in the manufacturing and distribution of retractable fabric patio awnings and window awnings. Our commitment to innovation and attention to detail has earned us numerous awards and recognition within the industry. We have also been granted five U.S. product patents and several international patents, including U.S. Patent number 5,273,095 for an ingenious urethane shoulder joint.
